What restoration customers remember

The most useful reviews describe the piece, the problem and the result—not simply a star rating.

In their words

Old woodwork entrusted to Livingston

“We gave Tom a set of both inside and outside 100-year-old solid wood doors with about a dozen coats of paint. They now have the appearance of finished furniture. I highly recommend him for any refinishing project.”
Brian Adams · Wood door refinishing
“Tom Livingston restored and refinished a 90+ year old handmade desk and did a marvelous job. His skills were exactly what we wanted.”
Pat N. · Antique desk restoration
“Great experience getting my armoire door fixed. Timely and professional, great quality of work. Would use again.”

What to look for in a furniture restorer

Reviews are most persuasive when they reflect work similar to yours. Ask whether the provider has handled the same construction problem, wood surface or intended use. Photographs, a clear scope and an explanation of finish choices are stronger evidence than broad promises.

For antique pieces, make sure the conversation includes what will be preserved. For chairs and damaged casework, structural stability comes before cosmetics. For exterior doors, maintenance expectations should be discussed with the finish system.
